EXTENDED ONE MORE WEEK!

Help us encourage the elderly with handwritten letters.

Due to Covid-19, many of the elderly, living in long term care facilities, have little or no contact with the outside world, feeling isolated and alone.

You can help! By writing handwritten letters, you will encourage and provide hope to local senior citizens. We are made for community and we will get through this together, but some encouragement along the way can go farther than you know.

Grab the whole family and take some time to draw a picture or write a letter to someone who could use it right now.

You make the cards and we will drop them off. It’s that simple. Drop off your letters no later than June 14th at Parkview Community Church.

How to create your card:

  1. First, please fill out this form – This helps us know how many people are participating in this outreach. Your information is private and kept secure.
  2. Gather supplies and create your card – Use a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper and corresponding envelope. This can be as simple or as complex as you’d like – you can write something encouraging, draw a picture, write a poem, etc.  We just ask that you avoid anything that might make a mess when opening the card.
  3. Make 4 different cards and seal them in the envelope without postage
  4. Place cards in the container sitting outside the Children’s Ministry entrance at Parkview – To protect your artistic work, we suggest placing them in a ziplock back or manilla envelope to make sure they stay intact. We’ll collect all of the cards and take them to the homes. Please do not send these directly to the facilities. We are partnering together with the assisted living communities on proper procedures for receiving mail during Covid-19.

Thank you for serving!  We will send an update on how your card has encouraged our seniors.
